Settling In

The nursery operates a settling in system for each child. The parents and carer will be expected to stay for the required length of time to ensure their child is settled at the nursery. We appreciate that each child and their parent/carer have different needs, so our system is flexible to accommodate individual needs.

Facilities

The Pre-school is well equipped with a stock of reading, writing, and play materials and toys. There are a range of big books with large writing that younger ones enjoy, crayons, paints, musical instruments and other media from them to explore, express, and develop themselves.

Our facilities include, fresh cool water supply system, a purpose built kitchen, and designated spaces for children’s personal belongings.

The equipment to facilitate play and learning includes appropriate soft play toys, soft mats, messy materials (e.g. modelling clay), building toys, bikes, audio-visual equipment and a computer.

Our Activities

Our activities include learning from play, dressing up and role play, construction, story telling, art, music, singing, water and sand based activities. These all help our children to explore and develop ideas of space, time, movement, rhyme, and rhythm. These activities also help our children learn about numbers, letters and language in line with the Early Years Curriculum guidelines. Examples of weekly timetabled activities will be available upon request. We follow the Early Learning Goals set out by the DfEE.
